Race Weekend
The Soling One Meter open regatta and the US12 NCR have been combined to form a three day weekend of racing

Regatta Site: The Soling 1M regatta will be sailed on Lake Mira Mar, which is located behind the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, 1051 Main Street, The Villages, FL 32159. The Sharon and the pond are located in Spanish Springs Town Square, The Villages, Florida, 32159.
Date:Soling 1M racing will be held after lunch on Saturday November 7, 2020 and Sunday morning, November 8, 2020. Check-in will take place on Friday morning, November 6th, prior to the US12 NCR and again on Saturday morning before the Soling 1M event.
Eligibility: Competitors must be a member of the AMYA or, in the case of international entries, a member of your national sailing authority. the boat entered must be properly registered with the Soling 1 meter class. The number of competitors will be limited to 30. If more than 30 competitors register a waiting list will be maintained.
Entry: Any eligible owner/skipper, as defined above, may enter the regatta by completing the 'Registration Form' and submitting the appropriate payment. Early registration is encouraged and appreciated to facilitate the following: room availability (CRAFT FAIR same weekend), restaurant reservations, number of trophies to be awarded, and other preparations.
Housing - Transportation: Each competitor is expected to make arrangements for their own housing and transportation. Rental houses are available as well as several hotels on and near The Villages. See the 'Lodging' page on our website.
Transmitters: If you are bringing a TX/RX that uses crystals, please list the crystal frequencies you will be bringing on your registration form. If you are using 2.4 GHx system, please indicate on your form.
SCHEDULE of EVENTS:
This 'Race Weekend' means that two classes will be sharing the pond. Some competitors will be participating in both regattas, some only in one event. There is a separate NOR for the Soling regatta and another NOR for the US12 regatta.
Friday: The Soling 1M regatta is the second of the two events. Participants of the Soling regatta, who are not in the US12 regatta, are welcome to come and observe the US12 regatta. The US12 racing will take place Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. For those competing in both events, both boats should be registered on Friday.
Friday Dinner: A group reservation will be made at a local restaurant for those who wish to dine with their friends and competitors. Dutch Treat. If a group setting is not to your liking, dinner is available at over a dozen restaurants in Spanish Springs Town Square, in The Villages, and at many chain restaurants along Route 441/27 on the east side of the Villages. Dinner is on your own.
Saturday Morning: Check-in (for Soling 1M single-event competitors) is at 11:30 AM Saturday morning.
Skippers meeting is 1:00 PM followed by racing shortly thereafter. Seeding races will be used if there is a large enrollment.
Saturday Lunch: A light lunch will be provided for competitors participating in both regattas.
Afternoon Racing: Racing will continue until approximately 3;30 PM at the discretion of the RD.
Saturday Evening: A group reservation will be made at a local restaurant for those who wish to dine with their friends and competitors. Dutch Treat. If a group setting is not to your liking, dinner is available at over a dozen restaurants in Spanish Springs Town Square, in The Villages, and at many chain restaurants along Route 441/27 on the east side of the Villages. Dinner is on your own.
Sunday Morning: The Skippers meeting is at 9:30 AM, followed by racing. The last race will start no later than 12:15 PM. The awards ceremony will commence shortly thereafter.
Measurement: Boats may be weighed and sails may be measured for class rules compliance. Further, any measurement specified by the class rules may be checked by the Race Committee prior to, during, and up to 30 minutes after the last race of the regatta.
Sailing Instructions: A copy of the Sailing Instructions will be available on line approximately two weeks prior to the regatta on line. A copy will be posted at the pond on race days.
Courses: Courses will be set, based on the prevailing conditions, and announced prior to the start of each race.
Race Format: If more than one fleet is necessary to accommodate a large number of competitors, the odd-even system will be used.
Prizes; The top three places will be awarded trophies.
